When I was super blonde, my hair took a battering. You are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Your hair gets dryer, so you put more treatments on. Your hair gets fluffier, so you try and only put a small amount of heat on it to straighten it out. You put more oily products on it, but then your hair becomes super greasy, which then, you wash it more and then the whole process starts over again.......ahhhhhh! I just felt I was going in circles and not getting anywhere.

I decided to take the plunge and go darker, (ombre, to be precise!)  get regular trims and although this may seem a little gross to some of you, not wash my hair as much. That's where the dry shampoo comes into this blog post!

BATISTE is probably one of the first companies to come out with a dry shampoo, before the days of talc!
To be honest when I was a super blonde, talc used to do the trick. The only thing I used to hate about it was, smelling like my nan!

BATISTE for a 400ml can is £4.99, which I thought was quite pricey. I must admit, I thought I was going to spend around the £3.00 mark and plus, I did buy the original.
I have to say I am not impressed by this at all. I feel that I am using loads of product and then I find the more I use, the greyer my hair goes. I feel like I have aged about 30 years in 4 seconds flat! Not only that I do find that it clumps together in certain areas and doesn't actually take away the grease out of my hair. The only good thing about it is, the smell. It does smell fresh. But as a product for me, I am giving this a thumbs down.

COCOA BROWNIE by Superdrug is their own brand of dry shampoo and this time, I did by their spray for brunettes. I got this on offer for about 97p for a 150ml can. However, usually it costs £2.29 full price. So in theory, if you were to buy 2 cans, full price, it would cost nearly as much as the Batiste and you would only get 300ml of product. So Batiste is the winner for value.

I did like this a lot better. I felt like it soaked up the grease a lot more, but it still left a shine in my hair, plus it gave some body to the roots. It smells amazing and lasted in my hair well.

Now you may say that I didn't give this a fair trial as one is for brunettes and one is only the original. However, Batiste's Original dry shampoo does states for all hair types. I do feel that Batiste Original would be better for the blondes, as the white wouldn't show up as much. But as a whole the Superdrug's own brand seem to do everything else so much better.

Have you tried out any of these dry shampoo's?

Talika is a cosmetic company that I have never heard of before. But looking at their website, it seems that they care for, the upper part of the face

Being a makeup fanatic, I was looking for an eye cleanser that you didn't have to scrub away at your actual eyes, with a cotton pad, or something that is super oily. #No1 It creates wrinkles and #No2 It makes your eyes sore.
So when I came across this, rather pricey Gentle Eye Cleanser (link), I thought I would give it a shot.

I love the packaging and the neat little pump that it comes with and also, the liquid is a actually an aqua blue colour.

A couple of pumps is all you need, on each cotton pad and then I place them on my eyes and let the eye cleanser do its magic for at least 10 seconds. That way, the product is breaking down any makeup on and around the eyes, before wiping it away.

My oh my, this is a great eye cleanser! Hardly any residue is left, even after those pesky waterproof mascara's. Its super gentle, even if your like me and suffer with a little Eczema around the eyes. It does have a slight scent to it, but nothing to worry about and a little goes a long way.

At £18 for 120ml may seem a lot of money to some of you, but as I am getting slightly older, I feel that I need something a little bit more luxurious around my eyes and this definitely caters for that.

Go and check this company out, as I am sure they have many more surprises up their sleeves!

Babyliss Pro Ceramic 230

My old hair straighteners and I, had a loving relationship since I was 18 (only a couple of years ago....obvs!)
But the time has come that I had to get a new pair, as the old pair seemed to be burning my hair rather than straightening them!

So when I saw an amazing deal on the Babyliss Pro Ceramic 230* I thought 'Why Not?!'

W7 10 out of 10 Browns

Every makeup/cosmetic company, try to deliver the best nude eyeshadow palette. By far I think The Urban Decay Naked Palettes, will always be on top. However, a lot of the highstreet/cheaper brands are now trying to come up with the best colours, along with the best pigmentation and now the best price.

I was blown away with this W7 palette. The colours look incredible and for only £3, for 10 pans of colour, I just had to get it!

There is a good mixture of mattes, slight shimmers and very shimmery shadows, all which are very wearable and will suit many skin tones. Also, as always, they come with some sort of sponge applicator! As per usual, I just throw these away, as I am a fluffy brush kind of gal!

When trying these out, it did remind me of the matte MUA Matte Palette, which I also did a review HERE

Matte shadows seem to be quite hard to get right. They can be really chalky and produce a lot of fall out. These seem to be the same in this palette. Although, a primer does seem to help let the product stick to the eyelid. Also, if you do your eye makeup first, then any fall out, you can wipe away.

The shimmers seem to be better, but as with most of them, the pigmentation isn't that great. Again, a trusty primer seems to do the trick and make these eyeshadows better and more vibrant in colour.

I'm not saying that this is a really bad palette, but I am not saying it's the best either. But for £3.00 and if you were just starting out in makeup, this would be perfect for you.

Club Mix Eye Pencils

I haven't bought any eye pencils for a while, so when I came across this box of bright, eye, clubmix pencils I had a little sigh of happiness to myself! I actually purchased these a while ago. But these were tucked amongst other things, so I only have just started to use them.

These are a dream to use. They are really pigmented and super soft, so they don't drag on the skin. They are also very long lasting and come in a range of great colours. Some are matte and some have a sheen to them, but they are certainly not glittery.

I came across this little bundle, in a shop called BM Stores. It is a shop that have some really great named products, at really low prices. These were once sold in Boots over the Christmas period. So the ones that didn't sell, BM obviously purchased a whole bundle for cheap, to then sell in their stores. The whole box were £8.99 if I were to buy them in Boots. But I got them for a bargain price at £1.99! I don't think BM are well known, but there are quite a few shops popping up here and everywhere. If you see a store, I urge you to go in. Its super cheap and many bargains to be had!

Keep an eye out on my social media, because I will do a makeup look very soon, using a few of these colours.

Miss Sporty 10 Day Lasting Nail Polish

For me and my salon, nail varnish was the thing of the past. Gel Polish is by far, the most worn nail swagger used and will always be used! Although, Nail Varnish is making a pretty good come back and I do have the odd client asking for a good old fashioned manicure.

I realised that I didn't have a good variety of colours and shades. So off I went to my local Superdug Store to purchase quite a few, to say the least!

The 2 that stood out to me, were these Miss Sporty Nail Varnishes. They claim that they are like a gel and last upto 10 days on the nail and for only £1.99, I couldn't resist!

The colours that I got were Brown This Way and Its Too Latte. Brown This Way is a gorgeous hot chocolate colour and Its Too Latte is a cute peachy, beige colour. Both colours super wearable and classic, that will go with any outfit.

The brush in these bottles are a bigger size than normal and to apply, these are super quick and easy, without the product going gloopy and snagging. The colour pay off is immense and if you were in a hurry, one coat would be fine. However, I always go for 2 and the best thing about it, you don't need a top coat....A-MA-ZING!

The big question they last for upto 10 days?

I was out for the weekend and painted my nails with Brown This Way. That was Saturday at around 2pm and its now Tuesday at about 11am. I have some chips and snags, but nothing out the way. And lets not forget, I am always working with my hands and acetone etc. So for £1.99, this gets good top marks from myself. I will definitely buy some more colours and I can only imagine, with my Seche Vite this will be a a match made in heaven!

Have you teamed these up with your Seche Vite?

Naturally Radient

As mentioned before in my Washi Hot Cloth Post, hot cloth cleansers are all the rage in 2013. So many companies have brought them out......which one to choose??????

I have currently ran out of my usual cleanser, which was the Cleanance Soapless Gel Cleanser. This is my all time favourite. However, I thought I should spread my wings and try something else. I came across the Superdrug Hot Cloth Cleanser with Muslin Cloth 150ml £2.98. Usually it does cost £5.99, which I think is still a good price, considering my usual Avene Cleanser costs around £9.00. I also got this because one of the main ingredients is Shea Butter. I love Shea Butter, as it was one of the first things that got rid of my eczema, so I know its super kind to the skin.

The Superdrug Cleanser is creamy in texture and does not foam up, like normal cleansers. I can even use it to take my eye makeup off, without it stinging. It feels quite thick and luxurious and the smell is amazing. *that's the Shea Butter making an appearance!* As always though, I do double cleanse to make sure all my make up is off.

Your skin does feel nourished, with a slight oily sheen left on the skin. But I am not sure if this is going to over take over my Avene Cleanser. What I think that may work is, first cleanse with this and then my second cleanse with Avene. Ill try it and see how I get on and let you know. However, if you are looking for a good, cheap alternative, that is kind to your skin, this should be given a shot in your daily face, cleaning routine. For the price, I think its great.

Also, if you haven't entered my Competition then you really should ;) up for grabs is the gorgeous Heaven Bee Venom Mask worth £25.30

Charity Shop Bargains xxx

We can all feel the money pinch during January and February. So yesterday I thought I would have a little rummage around the local charity shops. I love a good charity shop day, you never know what your going to find. I did find many things. But this little beauty particularly, caught my eye!

Its a gorgeous little bag, perfect for nights out. Its very sleek and slender with just enough room for a few makeup items (obviously!), a small wallet/purse, phone, just enough space for a small mirror and obviously room for your keys!

I love the fact that its so simple, yet chic. It will go with any outfit and it even has that slight vintage feel to it. The faux snake skin is in detail and without a scratch on it, I feel I had the bargain of the day at only £1.99.

Do you look around charity shops?

MUA Blushers xxx

I am in love and I don't know why I haven't picked these up before! I'm gutted I only picked up 5 and they offer six blushers in total. So I am on the hunt for the last shade. However, that could take a while! So for now I will talk you through the 5 that I have got already.

You may think buying 5 blushers was a little much. But at £1 a piece is not breaking the bank.
The packaging is sleek and compact. Easy for a your dressing table and even easier for your makeup bag, if you go away for a weekend or on holiday.

The colours are fun and all very wearable. There are a lot of pinks, peachy and some bluey/pink shades and some are matte and others have a little shimmer in them. Something for everyone. They are very, very pigmented and last well on the skin. All you need is a little product on the brush to start of with and then build it up for your desired coloured. If you go in with it full throttle, you will end up looking like Aunt Sally from Worzel Gummidge!

These definitely have the wow factor for my professional kit, as all the colours are perfect and again, the packaging will not take up so much room.

If you haven't got these already, then you really should go and check them out either in Superdrug or on their website They won't let you down.

Are these in your makeup bag?

Washi Hot Cloth

First of all I want to wish EVERYONE a great year and I hope 2014 brings you all of your dreams and wishes!
Also, without sounding like a drag, (as you know this is my first, long awaited post since December 13, 2013) I just wanted to explain a little, where I have been for the last 3 weeks. I have literally been In my Hair and Makeup studio making everyone look gorgeous for the Christmas season. Ok, So I don't cut or colour hair, but I do style hair and obviously have been doing manicures, nail art, spray tans, makeup looks, etc, etc. I was working from really early in the morning, till super late at night and only right up until now, this is practically the only time I have had off, apart from Christmas day obviously! In fact, I have to express the love and my's great to be back tapping away again!

So without making this post longer than it has to be I am going to be talking about Washi Hot Cloth and Polishing Towel*

2013 was probably the year of hot cloth cleansers and Caroline Hirons! If you don't know about either/or, then clearly 2012 was a massive blurr for you! Ill explain.....
Caroline Hirons went on a youtube channel called Body Talk Daily and here she explained everything about skin care and how hot cloth cleansers work and why we should be using them. She is like god, in the skin care world.......go and check her out, she will change your life and your skin!

So when you go and check the Washi company out, you have to agree, its all very cute. I love how very personal the cloths and towels are and great if you wanting a gift set of cleansers and cloths, so someone can try this all out.

As you can see by the photo's, you even get little info and how too cards to get the best out of your cloths. Its all such a great idea and as I said, great as a present or a little treat for yourself.

But, are these cloths the same same as most flannels and towels?

In my opinion, yes they are. Once you take off  the wrappers and pretty little cards, all you have underneath is a flannel and a towel, which do exactly the same job. As long as you use a clean one every time you wash your face, which should be morning and night, then you are onto a winner, and probably cheaper!

So how do they work you ask?

All you do is massage your face with your hot cloth cleanser, which are usually oil based (this breaks down makeup a lot easier and is kinder for your skin) and once that is done, to remove, all you need to do is get your cloth, run it under fresh, hoti-sh water, wring out the excess, place over your face and wipe away the cleanser. Pat dry with a fresh clean towel. You will then have the perfect clean skin!

I have to say, since I have changed to oil based cleansers and wash cloths, my skin has been great! You should try them out.

So in a nut shell, Washi Hot Cloths are great as presents and if you want to try out the whole hot cloth cleanser for the first time, then go and check these guys out. They are super pink and cute!
